The show held on to the franchise’s core idea that there exists in the universe a constant tension between good and evil. But it boldly interrogated the origins of that dichotomy, focusing on what pushes someone to adopt one set of beliefs over another. Go to Full Review

Making Cassian the main focus would obscure the show’s larger point about free societies being hustled off a cliff by mass complacency, facilitated by falsehoods. Go to Full Review

An ambitious, spectacular, poignant, emotionally crushing and very timely season that not only cements this show as the best “Star Wars” story, but also one of the best TV shows of the decade. Go to Full Review

Forget it’s a Star War; it’s no good-versus-evil pageant … instead it dramatises ordinary people’s political struggles with an empathy that bruises the heart it captivates. … A heartening polemic for a time right now, in a galaxy near, near here. Go to Full Review

Simply put, one of the greatest television series ever made. A beautiful and necessary mediation on revolution and what it truly means. Epic on every level. Go to Full Review

Diego Luna’s “Andor” is at its best when it’s critiquing authoritarianism, reflecting and skewering today’s MAGA politics. Go to Full Review

PIXELEYE P 2d Andor is a good show but slightly overrated in my opinion. While the plot is intelligent, coherent, and supported by strong acting, the show is weighed down by slow pacing and a lack of effective payoff. Many episodes drag on with endless dialogue and political plotting, often without enough happening to justify the runtime (some episodes are forgettable). The series repeatedly builds tension through world-building and teases major confrontations, but when action finally arrives, it mostly falls flat. When it’s time to up the pace and give the scenes more energy and intensity, it doesn’t, and remains slow and underwhelming. All the episodes are the same on repeat: endless dialogue about politics, a plot that builds up as tension between the rebels and the empire and then an unsatisfying, often boring "event" (action sequence) that falls flat and fails to deliver a strong, shocking/intense payoff to all that plot building. This made the series increasingly difficult to stay invested in. See more Andrew Q @lovematoes559 4d An absolute masterpiece!! I literally have NO NOTES, a master's class in suspense and intrigue, and could hardly believe I was watching a Star Wars show. Bravo. See more Sam V @SamVox Dec 29 This took me a while to get to and by far is the greatest adaption of a series from a movie and in the s/w universe. I was so lucky to have 2 seasons to watch. They need to get TonyG to do more of this type of series. Gritty non compromising non-woke story telling. I am going straight to re-watch the movie and see Cain (Churrit) who is once again like in John Wick blind in this movie. So far it gives background to the movie and depth to the story and the transition is seamless. See more Read all reviews
