Bridgerton follows Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor), the eldest daughter of the powerful Bridgerton family as she makes her debut onto Regency London’s competitive marriage market. Hoping to follow in her parent’s footsteps and find a match sparked by true love, Daphne’s prospects initially seem to be unrivaled. But as her older brother begins to rule out her potential suitors, the high society scandal sheet written by the mysterious Lady Whistledown casts aspersions on Daphne. Enter the highly desirable and rebellious Duke of Hastings (Regé-Jean Page), committed bachelor and the catch of the season for the debutantes’ mamas. Despite proclaiming that they want nothing the other has to offer, their attraction is undeniable and sparks fly as they find themselves engaged in an increasing battle of wits while navigating society’s expectations for their future.

That such an unabashedly silly series as Bridgerton has developed some true feminist credentials is a marvel. Especially when it does so alongside the totally absurd proposition that gossip-mongering is a noble cause.

Loved the books. Stopped watching when the show started gender-swapping and rewriting characters for modern politics instead of adapting the actual stories.

Nicola and Luke's PR saved this season. The chemistry between Luke and Nicola was displayed beautifully through Colin and Pen. I understand that this season veered away from the book a bit in the way Colin's character develops, but Luke Newton made it appear natural and flawless. He is one to watch moving forward. Nicola's acting remains top notch. The only major disappointment I had was the writer's choice to slop on multiple unnecessary side plots, rather than focusing on the main material that fans were drooling for. I hope season 4 is less chaotic in that nature.

Compared to the first two seasons, this one felt really flat. The 'love story' between Penelope and Colin was rushed, not believable, not romantic in a slightest bit. Couldn't get onboard with the forced drama of who is Lady Whistledown..." giving me voice, and power, I had no life before..."- than slagging off everyone else, building the foundation of "Cancel Culture". She can be really 'proud' what she has achieved so as Colin,how quickly he turned around and changed his opinion. Let's not talk about the groupie scenes! I m sure both Colin and Benedict is spreading around a range of STIs, what a catch!

Honestly, the season didn’t focus on the two leads together enough, but it was overall entertaining and enjoyable. Acting was good, though the writing didn’t do the actors justice at times. Truly my favorite of the 3 seasons so far, though.
