Bridgerton follows Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor), the eldest daughter of the powerful Bridgerton family as she makes her debut onto Regency London’s competitive marriage market. Hoping to follow in her parent’s footsteps and find a match sparked by true love, Daphne’s prospects initially seem to be unrivaled. But as her older brother begins to rule out her potential suitors, the high society scandal sheet written by the mysterious Lady Whistledown casts aspersions on Daphne. Enter the highly desirable and rebellious Duke of Hastings (Regé-Jean Page), committed bachelor and the catch of the season for the debutantes’ mamas. Despite proclaiming that they want nothing the other has to offer, their attraction is undeniable and sparks fly as they find themselves engaged in an increasing battle of wits while navigating society’s expectations for their future.

The real fantasy of Bridgerton. Not the romance or the costuming, but the idea of having stiff, yet well-meaning rulers who appreciate friendly competition and won’t go scorched-Earth on any threat if the alternative is ceding even an inch of their power.

Penelope-colin story has been developing for the past two seasons and this season really delivers a beautiful romance. The music, the costumes, the acting - everything was really well done. The whistledown conflict was brilliantly handled with substantial nuance. I just would have liked more colin scenes since Luke newton really does deliver a very good performance and the editing was a little weird. However, the writing was much better than before for sure. This is by far the most romantic season and my favourite! Seemed like bridgerton at its best. Can't wait to see more polin❤️

One of the best friend-to-lovers stories I’ve ever seen! Luke and Nic have such incredible chemistry as leads Colin and Penelope. Their emotive performances were unforgettable and left a lasting impression on me— I couldn’t stop thinking about them for a long time, to the point I rewatched it many times! An incredible story with an incredible performance. Season 3 is by far my favorite! Bravo to the cast, crew, and creators for making such an unforgettable experience!

I loved the first two seasons and had high hopes for the third, which unfortunately disappointed me. The script diverged from the books but was well written, the costumes and were vibrant as they always have been. The plot was fine, but felt rushed in places, especially when it came to Polin. Most notably, I just wasn't convinced by the two leads. Watching Nicola Coughlan pretend to be out of breath with lust before and during intimate moments had me cringing behind my hands. It was the least convincing performance in any of the Bridgerton seasons. I'm overweight myself and was really looking forward to some representation in Nicola, but I'm sad to say that I couldn't get past the lack of chemistry between her and Luke. I like her as a person, but I think another actress could have carried the role of Penelope a lot better.
