Nicola Coughlan
Nicola Coughlan is an actress, born January 9, 1987, in Galway, Ireland. She gained widespread recognition for her role as Penelope Featherington in "Bridgerton" (Netflix, 2020-) and previously as Clare Devlin in "Derry Girls" (Channel 4, Netflix; 2018-22). Some other notable roles include playing Joy in the 2006 TV series "Doctor Who" (BBC America, BBC One, Disney+), and as Hannah Dalton in "Harlots" (BBC Two, Hulu; 2017-19). In 2023, she was part of the cast of the highly successful US film "Barbie" ($636.24M) directed by Greta Gerwig. Coughlan was nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series in 2025 for her work in "Bridgerton."
