For a mysterious man who was highly secretive, he left so many things out for easy access: The acting… left little to be desired for, a lot of squinting of eyes and frowning, so many loop holes. The characters weren’t overly believable, but I did like the friendship of the two women which showed a real sister hood, but again, for someone with no childcare or money, there was always a pub scene where the mother was drinking and child nowhere to be seen. The potential was there but it’s not something I’d recommend. See more Wendy M Jan 10 Watched this with my 17 year old granddaughter (after binge watching Run Away (5*)). Captivated has a highly talented cast, who all played their parts excellently & all the characters connected. Captivated is what I call an easy watch mystery thriller. Not too deep that you get lost in the twists & turns. As with all things in life, it's subjective as to whether it'll be to other's personal tastes. We thoroughly enjoyed it. If you're looking for thriller "lite", then perhaps give this one a view. It wasn't. There are so many books out there with brilliant story lines, and you always hope they will make a movie out of it, but they don't. They make movies like this. Poor plot, predictable, lots of loopholes, loads of 'why did they do that or this'. The whole 'she's poor he is rich' is so corny and it was so stereotyped as well. Makes no sense whatsoever.
