The pacing is a bit inconsistent and I felt like the storyline could've been far more interesting/exciting given the premise, but it's enjoyable enough and has a great cast. Counterpart and DARK are still the gold standard for parallel world sci-fi series, but I'd definitely watch a second season of this to see where it goes.

This is the kind of thrilling, intelligent, compassionate and thoughtful science fiction that brings me back to the genre. There are so many wonderfully employed themes : regret, mourning, powerful circumstance beyond our control and those within our control, the foundations of familial love, sacrifice, and being the best person we can be by being mindful of how our choices affect our lives and especially those that we love. To me, this was a triumph. I wish I could personally thank the visionaries at Apple TV who brought this masterpiece in thoughtful science fiction into the world. I generally loathe the pop sci-fi of other studios and I'm very happy to see that Apple has continually raised the bar with each new show on their platform and I'm very excited to see what they do next in Sci-Fi.
