Set in 1971 on a remote outpost of the Navajo Nation near Monument Valley, Dark Winds follows Lieutenant Joe Leaphorn of the Tribal Police as he is besieged by a series of seemingly unrelated crimes. The closer he digs to the truth, the more he exposes the wounds of his past. He is joined on this journey by his new deputy, Jim Chee. Chee, too, has old scores to settle from his youth on the reservation. Together, the two men battle the forces of evil, each other and their own personal demons on the path to salvation.

I loved it. I thought the writing and acting were top notch. There's a small amount of paranormal mysticism. I was a fan of the X Files back in the day, so it worked for me.

This is a fantastic series. Tony Hillerman books, actual Native American cast, murder mystery combined with Navajo culture and mysticism. Can't wait for the 3rd season. My wife loved it too. See you on the Rez.

Fantastic TV series. Almost as good as "Longmire," which is the best American TV of this century. Some of the same great actors, similar themes. Authentic, well-written, well-acted. Hope there will be more of it.
