There's something wrong with Disclaimer. The show never gives us enough clues to solve the puzzle, but it does create a feeling that something important remains unsolved. Go to Full Review

The performances are superb, the photography truly beautiful, the production design so inviting and Cuaron’s command of tone is always masterful. Go to Full Review

Alfonso Cuarón’s foray into television is a work of such vacuity that even Cate Blanchett can’t salvage it. Go to Full Review

Disclaimer struggles to keep up with the weight of its own devastating message. But viewers are essentially forced to stick it out until the last episode to understand the emotional rollercoaster that Cuarón wishes to take us on. Go to Full Review

This will surely be the series of 2024 that will get audiences feverishly talking — and perhaps reflecting on their own behaviours and judgements. Go to Full Review

With its multi-point-of-view narrative and incredibly destabilising twist, Disclaimer will keep the audience hooked to the screen until its very last episode, desperate to uncover the tangled web that is presented in front of us and learn the truth. Go to Full Review

Anthony M @RT68179326 Jun 1 Without trying to ruin the story for others we basically have a story within a story being told. The problem I had with it, is that the cast all act out the initial story as if the facts being presented are entirely true. The main protagonists never act out how they "really" should or would given the situation. Not once do they try and explain the real situation to the people they apparently care about. They save it for the rather unsubstantiated hearsay of a twist ending. The dramatic turnaround of the son in the finale is frankly insulting, as his own demons are used as a foil for much of the main plot. I liked Kevin Kline. At lease you can see where he was coming from. Honestly would not have minded if he'd done away with the lot of them. See more Rick A @Rickasskey May 2 My God. Talk about melodramatic 😂. Is this a comedy or a drama? How can anyone possibly take this series seriously?? If i were any of these actors, i would be EMBARRASSED. Still wondering how they managed to get Cate Blanchet in this over the top series is beyond me. I mean, i guess as an actor, you eventually end up in something that you can't get out of. The mother of the dead kid is just UNREAL. She tries 'drowning' herself in the tub to see what it 'feels like'?? 😂😂😂 OMG juussst effin' painful to watch. Is this what they call cringe comedy?? And the 'reviews' from Ebert and the Globe and Mail.....are you serious?? How could ANYONE take this series seriously. It was SO BAD i couldn't stop watching. I hope none of the actors read my review, because I don't want to make them cry. See more Ahxel T @ahxel Apr 13 Apparently, some other reviewers don’t understand the concept of an unreliable narrator, which this show did a fantastic job in. And apparently, some reviewers also wanted a more expansive background story for the perpetrator as it would "explain" why they crossed a line, a "villain origin story". I don’t see how that is worth being included in the story or why would any viewer want that. To sympathize with them? Why, though? That perpetrator got the treatment they deserved as far as the writing goes. The way the story slowly unfolds is great. It made me judge this one character. I was judging them with the rest of the others. But also, it made me uncomfortable how something feels a bit off about this other character, the way they’re going about their objective. It felt as if even though they were "in the right", their demeanor told otherwise. The series isn’t perfect. The ending didn’t exactly stick the landing perfectly but it was good enough. All in all, worth the watch. See more Boo E. @Boo.Eastland Apr 2 The acting is superb. I had a hard time getting into the story - so I read the entire plot ahead of time. It made the tv show much better for me. It clears up why the memories are kind of off and why the characters are behaving the way they are. Without having done this it was difficult to get through the first 2 episodes. For this reason I think this series is great as a book and would Be good as a movie but less great as a series. It's very difficult to "get it" unless you read ahead of it or you get to the end of the entire series and watch it again See more Callyx T @JeffSmith Mar 22 It pains me to give this show so low a rating because the acting and the voiceover narration and the scenes are excellent. The first six episodes are great tv. The problem comes with the twist in the narrative in the last episode. It's impossible to talk about it without spoilers so I will just say that it's so psychologically implausible that it ruins everything that was built upon in the previous six episodes. In the context of the first six episodes, plausible evidence was given to the viewer, actor's reactions were natural and there was a clear narrative. The 'gotcha' reveal in the last episode was without evidence. It was just a first person account of the accused party and it created rift size plot holes that can never be filled in. I was so actively disappointed that it ruined the rest of the show in retrospect. See more G Y @TheG-Way Mar 21 Brilliant performances by Kline, Cohen, and Blanchett! It was also admittedly frustrating to hear and see the story unfold in the beginning. Having patience to get through what at first may seem like bloated exaggerations will be worth the wait in the end. Without providing any spoilers, my issues and questions about the story were profoundly answered in the end with a simple, pivotal exchange between 2 characters when one asked, "why didn’t you question it?" And after a beautifully paced pause, the response was, "no…why didn’t you?" See more Read all reviews
