Gail Pennington St. Louis Post-Dispatch Wrapping in Morse's passion for opera and crossword puzzles, Endeavour is most interesting for the light it sheds on the character development of young Morse. Rated: 3/4 Aug 12, 2021 Full Review Gabriel Tate Time Out Even by 'Morse' standards, the solution is on the opaque side of tricksy, but seasoned Morse watchers will enjoy the careful integration of familiar elements. Jul 3, 2018 Full Review Nancy DeWolf Smith Wall Street Journal You don't have to be familiar with the Inspector Morse series in order to enjoy Endeavour. But the experience will be many times richer if you do recognize this new film as a prequel to the old show. Jun 9, 2014 Full Review Pattie Pegler Stuff.co.nz This is perfect Sunday night viewing - there are bodies but no real gore, confrontations but no real violence. Francesco E Surprisingly good, superbely acted, this prequel to the Inspector Morse series does a really good job in mixing crime, action , 60s (and in later seasons 70s) zeitgeist, and melancholia. Very accurate historical background and ancastounding cast Whittier incredible performances by All'amo and Lesser. Followed through to its ending 9th season. One of those shows you would like to go on forever. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/30/23 Full Review Flogo N Fantastic series & cast spot on. I watched the final episode series 9 last night & it was brilliant ! Well done to writers, cast & all involved- attention to detail 👌I'm from Sydney & we've been enjoying this program for years. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/23/23 Full Review Kathy G I love this series. The characters, settings and stories are very engaging. I'm hooked. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review godfrey s John Thaw as Inspector Morse was the most outstanding British TV show for its time. The attempts to duplicate the original have so far proved a failure. To watch Endeavour is a huge let down. The director & producer should be fired. Endeavour is full of errors, failures, abrupt changes of scenes, poor dialogue and poor actors & actresses. Hoping to see meaningful dialogue, meaningful scenery & excellent filming, I was horribly disappointed. I eventually dis-enrolled from the series, because I could not tolerate the mistakes. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member I loved this show! I am not sure why the critics scored it so low. I think sometimes the critics are trying hard to be contrary. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Endeavor is The Best Mystery Series of all Time. The Morse prequel tops its venerable predecessors, Inspector Morse and Inspector Lewis. Madmen's retro-style and storytelling + Joan Hickson's Miss Marple's picturesque appeal and well crafted plots + Cumberbatch's Sherlock's modern production values. An indefensible Cupid's arrow to the heart of any bibliophile, anglophile, and mystery buff. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Read all reviews
