Extracted’s addition of family and friends watching a typical survival competition create fascinating dynamics—and reality TV. Go to Full Review

What I find especially interesting is the family dynamics. There are encouraging softies and a few hardasses, and it’s fascinating to see how they assess their loved ones’ situations. Go to Full Review

The deep-voiced announcer is annoying and makes the show sound more like an infomercial than a reality competition. Go to Full Review

VaNessa S @RT16149086 Apr 8 Just horrible. Like, "wtf did I just watch". They made families write letters to their loved ones, just to force them to watch those letters BURN. They intentionally split families apart and turn families against each other. There's already enough division in the world. The world doesn't need extra division for the sake of "entertainment". Plus, the entertainment aspect isn't even that great. It's just random chaos that stresses the viewer out and just makes the viewer pissed off without any relief. So you're just voluntarily stressing yourself out. See more sandra S @RT67387286 Mar 17 The show is about survival; however there should be a rule when others lie and be deceptive to win. It is hard enough but when someone is ganged upon is not part of the show and their should be consequences emwhen tjis happen. Only one person can win. It's coming off as having racist tendencies. Win supplies fair and square. It's borderline inhumane See more Timothy T @RT46979371 Mar 14 I've only seen season 1 so far, but the producers are cheap. They have people killing themselves for $250K and calling it a fortune. No it's not. For the stuff they go through to get it, that's cheap. Malnutrition, sickness, freezing cold, hypothermia, dehydration, rapid weight loss, actually taking supplies away from family members. Not to mention the risk of being attacked by a wild animal in your sleep. And the emotional toll it takes on the families. They've gotta put more up for grabs than that little bitty change. Y'all gotta go into the millions. $250 million would be more acceptable than $250K. Then considering the money has to be divided 3 ways in the end. That's $83,333 per person, if divided evenly. These people are killing themselves for money they could make in a year just by working a regular job and they could get to stay healthy the whole time. That ain't worth all that. That's cheap as hell. See more Todd N @Rassmuss Feb 18 Initially, I was pretty geeked up watching this show, but as it wore on, I became somewhat disillusioned with the fact that it was less about survival and more about drama, and I mean a Drama King/Queen extraordinaire. I guess this show is a lot like real life, you have people that do little to nothing and skate by relying on others to do the work for them. Others who get by doing just the bare minimum and think they are just crushing life. Again, with others picking up their slack. And then you have the movers and shakers (Jake) that make things happen and everyone is out there gunning for you and trying to take away what you have earned. And often another surpasses you, not with hard work or accomplishments, but with skullduggery and deceit. And am I the only one that could not stand Robyn's daughter? She could not even speak one sentence without going into a quasi, nasally half cry. And she used a supposed rift between her and her father to emasculate him into doing what she wanted See more bob l @RT84785642 May 27 I thought the show was fun and good throughout the season an interesting way to make a survival show.... untill the last episode. The idea was survival show, survival competition.. which then turned into something different and the way the final 4 was done was not a survival show and disappointing If there is a season 2 and they plan the finale the same way, i wont be watching. See more Brendan J @BrendanJones May 9 Honestly, overall it was a great show. The only reason I've dropped two stars is because of how it ended. The entire premise of the show is contestants surviving in the wild, while the families compete and make choices behind the scenes. The final competition to determine who wins mostly makes sense (kayaking, hiking, navigating, etc.); however, it really all came down to guessing a correct word- which does not match the theme of the show whatsoever. It would be like determining who wins jeopardy by having a final arm wrestle or something. Just a bizarre way to determine the victor. Also, unless contestants lied about their abilities going into the show, it was a little ridiculous to have so many swimming competitions when at least one dude cannot swim, while another is a former life guard. Overall, this show needs a lot more balance. And totally need to re-think how it ends. See more Read all reviews
