Andy Dehnart Reality Blurred Extracted’s addition of family and friends watching a typical survival competition create fascinating dynamics—and reality TV. Rated: B+ Feb 17, 2025 Full Review Dustin Rowles Pajiba What I find especially interesting is the family dynamics. There are encouraging softies and a few hardasses, and it’s fascinating to see how they assess their loved ones’ situations. Feb 13, 2025 Full Review Joel Keller Decider The deep-voiced announcer is annoying and makes the show sound more like an infomercial than a reality competition. bob l I thought the show was fun and good throughout the season an interesting way to make a survival show.... untill the last episode. The idea was survival show, survival competition.. which then turned into something different and the way the final 4 was done was not a survival show and disappointing If there is a season 2 and they plan the finale the same way, i wont be watching. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 05/27/25 Full Review Brendan J Honestly, overall it was a great show. The only reason I've dropped two stars is because of how it ended. The entire premise of the show is contestants surviving in the wild, while the families compete and make choices behind the scenes. The final competition to determine who wins mostly makes sense (kayaking, hiking, navigating, etc.); however, it really all came down to guessing a correct word- which does not match the theme of the show whatsoever. It would be like determining who wins jeopardy by having a final arm wrestle or something. Just a bizarre way to determine the victor. Also, unless contestants lied about their abilities going into the show, it was a little ridiculous to have so many swimming competitions when at least one dude cannot swim, while another is a former life guard. Overall, this show needs a lot more balance. And totally need to re-think how it ends. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 05/09/25 Full Review Richelle W I really wanted to like this show and there were some contestants and family member’s that were great, but the reality is that Jake was should have won. He was without question the strongest survivalist and whatever stunt the show pulled to quickly end it on a challenge not even based on survival totally ruined the show. I will not watch again and would not recommend. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 04/25/25 Full Review Graham M This show had a very very disappointing ending. There was not enough actual surviving, and the drama between families got played up a bit too much. They attempted to equalize the show too much by punishing those who actually knew what they were doing and were capable of doing things themselves and giving free stuff to those who were incompetent/unable to survive on their own. It was very disappointing to see that the final ‘survival’ trial was hardly related to survival. Whereas all other challenges at least had the semblance of whoever was fittest or most used to the outdoors, the last challenge had no survival skills necessary. The only parts of it related to the outdoors were paddling a raft -with a paddle - and hiking a short distance. Would not recommend and would not watch this show again. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 04/25/25 Full Review cindy m It was completely obvious who was going to win and that it was completely set-up for her to win. Not watching this show again. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 04/23/25 Full Review Nora R Jake should have one. I would have liked the show more if it was basically down to just the survivalist ability. Jake was by far the most capable person out there and deserved to win it way more than everyone else. He's the only one that showed true survival skills.
