This animated series features the adventures of the Griffin family. Endearingly ignorant Peter and his stay-at-home wife, Lois, reside in Quahog, R.I., and have three kids. Meg, the eldest child, is a social outcast, and teenage Chris is awkward and clueless when it comes to the opposite sex. The youngest, Stewie, is a genius baby who is bent on killing his mother and destroying the world. Brian, the talking dog, keeps Stewie in check while sipping martinis and sorting through his own issues.

Matthew Gilbert Boston Globe This kind of material would wear thin after a while if the characters weren't as distinct and endearing as they are, most notably Stewie, the wrathful infant. Nov 26, 2013 Full Review Kevin Wong PopMatters Family Guy, despite some initial missteps at the beginning of its new season, shows signs of regaining its admirable mix of niche nostalgia and hysterical characterizations. Nov 27, 2013 Full Review Robert P. Laurence San Diego Union-Tribune The new Family Guy is much like the first, an animated family sitcom that tries too hard to be quirky and is only sporadically funny. Rated: 2.5/5 Nov 26, 2013 Full Review KJB IGN Movies The time off and the series' subsequent success on DVD and cable has given creator Seth MacFarlane more time to work on character dynamics and sub-references. Rated: 8/10 Nov 26, 2013 Full Review Joly Herman Common Sense Media The constant cross-references to musicals, literature, plays, and other TV shows might amuse some viewers.
