Joel Keller Decider Given the time between seasons, the first episode of Hellbound‘s second season may have you a bit disoriented. But once you figure out exactly what’s going on, the story that comes out of the first episode is an interesting one. Oct 28, 2024 Full Review Pierce Conran South China Morning Post With this second season of cults, demons and mayhem, adapted from a comic – penned by Yeon and Choi Gyu-seok, who also wrote the series – the director reminds us why we got excited about Korean dystopias in the first place. Rated: 4/5 Oct 25, 2024 Full Review Daniel Hart Ready Steady Cut Without a doubt, Hellbound is one of the best Korean dramas Netflix has to offer. Brayden T an amazing season (better then s1 imo), lots of good action, and plot twits with lots of room to go. i just hope s3 doesn't take as long to make Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/07/24 Full Review Voice O I loved this show the first season and I think the second one is way better, the story becoming more complex and richer and opens up a lot of avenues to continue on. I struggled a bit the first couple of episodes of season 2 but once it got going, I couldn't stop watching and hope it will continue. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/01/24 Full Review Gaming N i dont understand why people dont like this season. it has alot of action, fun concepts and a cool ending Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/24/24 Full Review Jorch N The story feels like they were in a hurry for a continuation and is not interesting at all. Is basically, 3 factions and all want power using the founder Jung Jinsu, or the resurrected one Jung-Ja. There were very few scenes with the executioners and had pretty much no impact, visually or otherwise. The characters were bland and uninteresting. 1. The kid they saved on season 1 was irrelevant. 2. The kids of the resurrected one Jung-Ja, irrelevant. 3. The leader of Sodo, useless and boring. 4. The leader of new truth was same as before 5. The leader of arrowhead is crazy in a good unsettling way 6. The worst character is the ex-lawyer Min Hyejin. She is supposed to be the face of Sodo but has zero power in the organization. Doesn't put much thought in what she does. She is stronger and more resilient than wonder woman. For some reason can take a fight against 5 to 8 crazy men with weapons with only so much as a scratch. Can avoid her death just because, even tho it was predicted by Jung-Ja. After being shot and running away for several minutes can still fight 1v1 with a man twice her size and weight WHILE SHOT AND BLEEDING fight for several minutes and still win. Still wounded, no treatment of any kind to stop the bleeding can still drive for god knows how long, without losing consciousness and I imagine regenerating more blood than she loses to not die, and get to the Sodo hideout to go get the girl saved on season 1. It is getting very old and very tiresome to see ridiculous portraits of super strong and looks like immortal women instead of writing a good character and find creative ways to get over the adversities they decide to just "make her wonder woman". Lazy character development and lazy strong woman can do all is getting out of hand. This is too ridiculous and take me out of the immersion. Even in the setting of the world they created this narrative is dumb and overused.. if you read this and you are about to see season 2. I would suggest you not to see it and keep the good impression of season 1. If you havent seen any season, I recommend to at least watch season 1 as it is waaay better written than season 2. Season 2 avoid at all costs. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 11/22/24 Full Review Gail B Though they do more with the premise in the second season, you can literally skip about two thirds of scenes without missing much. There are too many dialogs where characters restate the same thing for twenty minutes. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 11/17/24 Full Review David D Somebody pack up the Hollywood and Disney writers and send them East. Great lessons there are to be learned in the craft of storytelling there. A stonking season. Who knew the Koreans could tell a more coherent story of the rapture than the Christian West? Sure, its full of the same nonsense holes as Season 1....although two whole guns make it into Season 2. People do the most wonderfully dumb things. Credibility is ripped, like the bodies of the damned, to bits. All that, and its still entertaining. I can see and do hope for at least another two seasons. Bravo!
