In a Manhattan real estate office, four very different women cater to high-end clients while coping with their own personal predicaments. Married to a handsome 25-year-old, 40-something Ava Summerlin wants to start a family, while self-improvement junkie Chloe would settle for any guy who can remember her the next day. Recently divorced after being married ten years to a gay man, voluptuous Lola dreads jumping back into the dating pool, and the latest addition to this eclectic work group is rich girl Emerson Ives, who instantly bonds with the women upon learning that her supposedly virginal fiancee was anything but. And the ladies' office neighbors from down the hall, therapist Dr. Sellers Boyd and plastic surgeon Dr. Charlie Thorpe, help keep things lively around the water cooler. Read More Read Less

What to Know

Critics Consensus

Not actually very hot at all, Hot Properties' attempts at feminine empowerment sink fast amid its many cliches, poor writing, and a baffling lack of good jokes.

Matthew Gilbert Boston Globe Despite the actresses' happy energy, ''Hot Properties" falls into terribly familiar comic territory. Oct 2, 2019 Full Review Brian Lowry Variety Breakout status seems unlikely, but if simply remaining "Faith"-ful is the primary yardstick, then "Properties" could be destined for a long-term lease. Oct 2, 2019 Full Review Robert Bianco USA Today The problem is that Housewives has taken Sex's four-friend formula to a new level, which makes Hot feel a little warmed over. Still, in the world of Friday night sitcoms, warm is about as good as it gets. Oct 2, 2019 Full Review People Staff People Magazine This hasn't been a great season for new sitcoms-Everybody Hates Chris is virtually the only one in which the execution cleanly fits the concept-but Hot Properties has a loose, engaging silliness. Oct 2, 2019 Full Review Rob Owen Pittsburgh Post-Gazette The talented cast does its best with the show's substandard scripts, but that's not enough to make this a best bet or even, ahem, a hot property.
