What to Know

Critics Consensus

A riff on Greek myth that is equal parts clever and overstuffed, Kaos falls just short of godly but still lands as a bolt of good fun.

Rendy Jones Autostraddle Kaos is another Charlie Covell classic. It is a perfect marriage of creativity and dark comedy under its own unique epic Greek odyssey. Feb 24, 2025 Full Review Hannah Giorgis The Atlantic A darkly funny, visually rich saga that highlights the enduring relevance of these moral quandaries and character studies -- without taking itself too seriously. Sep 9, 2024 Full Review Mark Kermode Kermode and Mayo's Take (YouTube) There is much to enjoy, not least Jeff Goldblum... he's being the most Jeff Goldblum he's been in quite a long time. Sep 9, 2024 Full Review Emma Stefansky The Daily Beast It’s an addictive type of storytelling, and KAOS is a pomegranate well worth trying. Jun 5, 2025 Full Review Martin Carr martincarr.co.uk For audiences who are happy to brush up on their mythology, and open themselves up to the possibility of a series that is slavishly faithful to the text – then Kaos might just work. For anyone else going in blind, might we suggest a little light reading. Oct 9, 2024 Full Review Burt Peterson SciFiNow Kaos is a celebration of diversity in storytelling, with inclusive casting and a sharply insightful script. Vanessa R It's very annoying in this day and age, when streamers have previously saved shows rather than cancelling them, that we can be given new and engaging content that they then take away from us for no good reason just like networks of old. Kaos had all the making of a real classic. It was strange enough to keep the audience engaged. It pushed some of the ideas behind some of the most well known (or not well known at all) mythologies that influence so much of our lives. It made these modern and tried to get us to engage with them in a new way. I wasn't always sure about it but I found myself reaching for the remote and wanting more even as my eyes narrowed and I wondered if/when the rug was going to be pulled out from under me... and right when I allowed myself to fully enjoy it - Netflix were the ones to pull the rug of cancellation. Maybe if more people watch it we will get a revival - once again, sometimes stories take a little longer to build and that's not a bad thing. Sometimes things get off to a lumpy start, but that doesn't mean they won't grow into something amazing. This show had really kicked off and started finding it's rhythm only to get prematurely canned. Disappointing. But again - we can hope. Also... how good is Jeff Goldblum? His Zeus was by turns irritating, funny and absolutely psychotic. Surely he alone should have been enough to green light a season 2?!? Rated 4 out of 5 stars 06/23/25 Full Review Smiling D Seems the only thing right in this mess of the Gods is Jeff Goldblum's acting. The movie feels like an amature with an iPhone is filming a school documentary using a poorly written script. Aside from a few AI effects and Jeffs contributions, it quickly became hard to watch and impossible to finish. Poor casting, difficult to follow, using a dated plot. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 04/17/25 Full Review Craig B KAOS really is a very good, and very clever, series. Great acting, great characters, plenty of witty moments and a storyline which whips along at a good pace. A pity there's no Season 2, but perhaps this was better as a 'Limited Series'. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 04/02/25 Full Review jae c Absolutely loved it. Wish there was a second season. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/31/25 Full Review Sue T I love it. It is so funny and the actors are brilliant. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/03/25 Full Review Nehal S I loved this series, no idea why it got cancelled, gorgeous cinematography, solid performances, engaging story retelling of greek mythology. Yes there was problems in the pacing. It dragged in the middle but overall really entertaining, there are a lot of much worse series that gets more seasons Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/26/25 Full Review Read all reviews
