Joel Keller Decider Outlast is a dead-serious reality competition, with potential for anarchy and chaos to rule the gameplay. What’s not to like? LES C The first season was better. The biggest problem with this one is the choice of contestants. It was boring, uninspiring, very weak contestants and teams that fell apart instantly. Waste of time. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 10/03/24 Full Review Geraldine T HATED season 2 ending. This is NOT the point of the show. Supposed to be about survival skills, ends up awarding a million dollar to a couple of a** h***** who were manipulative and greedy. HATED HATED HATED, made me literally nauseous. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 10/02/24 Full Review Jay G What an absolute crock of crap. Blatantly scripted, vague and constantly changing rules, and yet another season with a brutally disappointing, inexplicably stupid, and entirely hollow conclusion. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 09/21/24 Full Review Karen B I was obsessed with this different type of survival reality tv show and was eating it up and then the end feels like a betrayal to the audience of what made the show so fascinating. I get that they need to get it over with at some point. So, it started absolutely addicting and ended a little sour. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 09/20/24 Full Review Matt A Leaps and bounds better than season one. The casting this time round is evidently much improved to remove the likely hood of the evil characters that plagued season one committing petty thefts and vandalism to ensure a win. This cast prided themselves on a fair game. This allowed for real characters to shine through and prove their teamwork, leadership and survival skills. A realistic and balanced survival tv show that has you on your edge of your seat until the last minute of the last episode. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/19/24 Full Review Audience Member Absolutely horrible show. At first it was super cool that they had to work as a team and had to rely not only on their hard skills, but their soft skills as well, but as time went on it got harder and harder to watch seeing the alpha males on team bravo treat everyone else like crap. Everytime team alpha had problems and had to signal a flare, team bravo never checked up on them to see how they were doing, despite promising them that they would work together until they were the last two teams, and only came by to "check up on them" when they already saw four flares from the alpha side of the map and just wanted to come steal their supplies. When the boats got dropped down bravo wanted to steal both boats, but delta held true to their principles and left them a boat. Then when they announced the finale bravo forced their partner to leave or they would vote him off, despite the fact that he could walk just fine. They pretended to care about his health, but really just thought he would get in their way and only cared about the money. When their teammate got stuck in the river, instead of saying that they hope she is okay all they worried about was the supplies she had with her. They judged the handicapped boy from team delta for betraying his team, saying things like "this whole time I never let the money change me", but it really did. They stabbed everyone including their teammates in the back time and again because they were so desperate to win. So ironic that such a selfish pair of rednecks wins a competition that is all about teamwork. Also, the competition is called outlast, not hike and light a fire. This was supposed to test their abilities to survive the longest in the wilderness but turned out to just be a crappy spinoff of survivor.
