Joel Keller Decider Outlast is a dead-serious reality competition, with potential for anarchy and chaos to rule the gameplay. What’s not to like? Simon L S.2 wasn't very good. Hers why, with spoilers: The participants knew/betting they were probably gonna do the same thing as last year in the finals. So this season was mostly them hanging around camp and preserveing energy. Not much foraging or hunting. Not many intrigues. They really need to mix up the last challenge so that this doesent happen. In the last moment one team ditched their 3rd member because a team is minimum 2 people or you're out. Which ment they had a huge advantage over the other team. With the two strongest contenders for a treck in the wild. It would be better if the rules were that if you haven't kicked out your not need members before final task arrive, then your stuck with them. Slow and and not very very intriguing. On the plus side, there's the beautiful nature and harshness of it. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 12/06/24 Full Review Helen R Netflix did something interesting: when I searched for Outlast they loaded season 2 & I wasn’t aware til the end that there was an earlier season. Maybe deliberate: season 1 includes immoral triggering & dangerous actions by one team. Season 2 is a great show. People working together & bonding to achieve a common goal, in a beautiful location, with a lot of challenges. The viewer becomes invested & you’re rooting for them all. It’s terrific. But season 1? Horrible targeted bullying behaviour that shook the contestants to the extent several left the show immediately. No redemption whatsoever. No laws, manipulation of the one rule (not to touch each other) so one team could destroy another teams survival equipment & taunt them without consequence. The producers got it so wrong. They did no favour to the community of people in recovery, showing the ‘recovered’ addict as a sneering thief, bully & vandal. Not good. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 12/05/24 Full Review LES C The first season was better. The biggest problem with this one is the choice of contestants. It was boring, uninspiring, very weak contestants and teams that fell apart instantly. Waste of time. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 10/03/24 Full Review Geraldine T HATED season 2 ending. This is NOT the point of the show. Supposed to be about survival skills, ends up awarding a million dollar to a couple of a** h***** who were manipulative and greedy. HATED HATED HATED, made me literally nauseous. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 10/02/24 Full Review Jay G What an absolute crock of crap. Blatantly scripted, vague and constantly changing rules, and yet another season with a brutally disappointing, inexplicably stupid, and entirely hollow conclusion. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 09/21/24 Full Review Karen B I was obsessed with this different type of survival reality tv show and was eating it up and then the end feels like a betrayal to the audience of what made the show so fascinating. I get that they need to get it over with at some point. So, it started absolutely addicting and ended a little sour. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 09/20/24 Full Review Read all reviews
