Richard Roeper Chicago Sun-Times Whether she literally ascends to the highest pedestal once again or falls short, we should always honor her request to remember she's only human after all... Rated: 3/4 Jul 22, 2024 Full Review Craig Mathieson The Age (Australia) Netflix has several Olympics-related documentaries releasing... and the best – that is, the one that tests the parameters of officially sanctioned sporting narratives – is this intimate look at the return of gymnast Simone Biles. Alex Y I really enjoyed this series, I personally loved simone vs herself more just because it delves deeper into her background a bit more with foster care, the implications she had with usagym due to the SA and the overall weight she felt carrying an organization that failed to protect her but this series felt like a more mature version of Simone where as simone vs herself was a younger and inexperienced version of herself in terms of being unsure about her future. To see simone rise once again was above all the greatest part. Reclaiming the All Around title for the second time in her career and to do it at the age of 27 is unprecedented. The entire crew did a great job on looking into the life of the famous gymnast Simone Biles. It was dramatic and a little depressing to learn about her life and what she did to become one of the greatest gymnasts of all time. If you haven't seen this docuseries yet, you might enjoy it. It wasn't as great as I hoped it would be, but it's not terrible. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/21/24 Full Review S T Incredible! I'm fascinated by stories of the "best of the best" and Simone is simply off the charts. Sharing what it was like after Tokyo to be judged as she said, by people who can't even do a cartwheel, was engaging and eye opening. I'll be cheering for her even louder during the Paris Olympics. And still you rise, girl! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/20/24 Full Review Amy S Aside from the continuous whining and complaining it was alright.
