The Peabody Award-winning and critically acclaimed series follows Sam, a true Kansan on the surface who, beneath it all, struggles to fit the hometown mold and its expectations. As she grapples with loss and acceptance, Sam finds a saving grace in singing. It leads her on a journey to discover herself and a community of outsiders who don't fit in but don't give up, proving that finding like-minded people and a voice is always possible. The series explores the themes of change and growth against all odds.

Ben Dowell Times (UK) [Somebody Somewhere] has done its own beautiful thing for two series, with a third and final one now arriving quietly, unobtrusively and rather brilliantly. Rated: 5/5 Dec 17, 2024 Full Review Rebecca Nicholson Guardian It is remarkable the extent to which this show can and does burrow into your heart. Rated: 5/5 Dec 10, 2024 Full Review Candice Frederick HuffPost It’s a singular experience that, even now in its final bow, is hard to describe, much less gab about with others. Nov 22, 2024 Full Review Tara Ariano Cracked With its third and final season, it ends as it began: portraying the vital necessity of true friendship, especially later in life. Rated: A+ Dec 19, 2024 Full Review Alex Hudson Exclaim! An impeccable finale that gestures hopefully toward the future without tying things up with too neat of a bow Rated: 9/10 Dec 16, 2024 Full Review Bill Brioux Brioux.tv No, it doesn’t sound like fun, but you watch Somebody Somewhere for its authentic moments. Izzy R Brilliant show and yet so simple. Highly recommend it. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/22/24 Full Review Phillip J Somebody Somewhere stands in a class of its own. There is no equivalent in the world of television. It is must-see TV for people who are trying to figure things out in their own lives: relationships; insecurities; goals; religion; daily routines; careers; love; childhood traumas; loss and so on. It touches on real issues in real lives. I am heartbroken...and profoundly confused...by MAX/HBO's decision to pull the plug on this show after three short seasons. This one show made their subscription worthwhile to me...now I am itching to cancel. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/21/24 Full Review José Miguel G A very endearing closing to one of the best shows HBO has produced in the last decade. A beautiful story about family, friendship and the finding of self love, amazingly lead by Bridgett Everett. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/15/24 Full Review Rob W Can't believe there's not a season 4, it's such a wonderful show! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/13/24 Full Review Al B One of the most humanistic shows I’ve ever seen. It speaks from the heart. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll wish you had friends like Sam and Joel. It’s not a political show, but just underneath the surface, you’ll know what it’s politics are for sure. All 3 seasons are gems. So sad HBO hasn’t renewed it for a 4th season. If Bridget Everett and Jeff Hiller aren’t nominated for Emmy Awards (and win) this year I’ll be very disappointed. This show is a rare treasure that might even change some attitudes. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/11/24 Full Review Andy C So much of the truth of Somebody Somewhere is in the silences between the lines. I grew to cherish these people for their striving to be good and kind. I can't believe that there are only three seasons! Hopefully, another station will pick it up.
