The Peabody Award-winning and critically acclaimed series follows Sam, a true Kansan on the surface who, beneath it all, struggles to fit the hometown mold and its expectations. As she grapples with loss and acceptance, Sam finds a saving grace in singing. It leads her on a journey to discover herself and a community of outsiders who don't fit in but don't give up, proving that finding like-minded people and a voice is always possible. The series explores the themes of change and growth against all odds.

Candice Frederick HuffPost It’s a singular experience that, even now in its final bow, is hard to describe, much less gab about with others. Nov 22, 2024 Full Review Stef Rubino Autostraddle Somebody Somewhere might not change the world, but if there’s a piece of media I wish people had the critical literacy to truly understand and learn from, it’s this one. Nov 8, 2024 Full Review Phillip Maciak The New Republic Few shows have defiantly tried to make such glorious, visionary television from such common tools. What would it be like if people loved you? How would that feel? What is it like to not be alone anymore? Somebody, sing us that song. Nov 3, 2024 Full Review Bill Brioux Brioux.tv No, it doesn’t sound like fun, but you watch Somebody Somewhere for its authentic moments. Nov 22, 2024 Full Review Chris Revelle Pajiba In ways so subtle and disarming, Somebody Somewhere makes the viewer fall in love with the characters so totally that we grasp and stumble with them on their wobbling paths to happiness. Nov 7, 2024 Full Review Belen Edwards Mashable It feels as true to life as TV can get, and it's an absolute gift we've gotten to experience it. Oct 30, 2024 Full Review Read all reviews

Andy C So much of the truth of Somebody Somewhere is in the silences between the lines. I grew to cherish these people for their striving to be good and kind. I can't believe that there are only three seasons! Hopefully, another station will pick it up. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/09/24 Full Review Kelly T Bridget Everett is a national treasure. Jeff Hiller can make you laugh while he's crying. There is a lovely song in season 3 that will tear your heart out. If you don't like laughing and crying In the same sitting than this show is not for you. If you like well written pieces of Americana, you have found your new favorite show. Sad that it is only a three-season run much like the Zach Galifianakis treat "Baskets". Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/03/24 Full Review Donna J I really do not want this show to end. I want to see where the characters go and what they do. This reminds me of when I binged season one of The Bear - I did not know if there would be a season two, and at the end I teared up a little (shut up, lots of people did!) because I had really loved all the characters, and knew I would miss them. And now there is only one last episode of Somebody Somewhere to see. Congratulations and kudos to everyone involved. I am already bereft, but happy for the experience. What an intelligent and warm and funny and wistful thing to have been created! Thank you. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/02/24 Full Review Debra H I love this show. I need more Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/02/24 Full Review Lula K I love this show! The writing, acting, directing are superb Positive, good humor, believable characters. I can’t wait each week for a new episode. Genuinely sad it hasn’t been renewed. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/02/24 Full Review JP K The particulars are familiar: family & friends, then branching to the themes of discord ("Drama is CONFLICT" -Egri), resentment, affection, but most of all, discovery. And yes, growth. There's no great subtleties at work; when Tricia tells Sam that she closes off/shuts people out, you know what's coming - SELF-discovery. So it's not the big surprise when Sam comes to a realization... but it is real, and wrapped in the charm of its characters and especially, its actors, "Somebody Somewhere" manages to pull a neat feat; it transcends its genre and sticks the landing firmly on humanity. It's like a Hallmark production made by Cord Jefferson. These characters are the kind that become your friends, not because they're gushy gooey and let's face it, a *bit* corny, but because you watch them and view your own life. Very few shows or movies belong to that category. All the more reason to treasure this one. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/27/24 Full Review Read all reviews
