Mensa-fied best friends and roommates Leonard and Sheldon, physicists who work at the California Institute of Technology, may be able to tell everybody more than they want to know about quantum physics, but getting through most basic social situations, especially ones involving women, totally baffles them. How lucky, then, that babe-alicious waitress/aspiring actress Penny moves in next door. Frequently seen hanging out with Leonard and Sheldon are friends and fellow Caltech scientists Wolowitz and Koothrappali. Will worlds collide? Does Einstein theorize in the woods?

Maureen Ryan Chicago Tribune The early laughter is just proof that Big Bang Theory, which is in its third season, is doing many things very right. Sep 27, 2013 Full Review Alan Sepinwall Newark Star-Ledger The Penny/Sheldon interaction was gold, as always. Sep 27, 2013 Full Review Ken Tucker Entertainment Weekly Let's face it, what lifts The Big Bang Theory into frequent excellence is its one constant from the start: the brilliantly nuanced performance of Jim Parsons. Rated: B+ Sep 27, 2013 Full Review Ross Ruediger Bullz-Eye.com The writers and producers are playing something of a dangerous game, because some of the other characters, most obviously Leonard, are shrinking into the woodwork. Rated: 4.5/5 Apr 3, 2020 Full Review Tom Conroy Media Life Somewhere during the run of a good character-driven sitcom like, say, Friends it reaches a point where the characters are so familiar that the jokes come easy but not so familiar that they breed contempt. The Big Bang Theory is right in that sweet spot. Sep 27, 2013 Full Review James Chamberlin IGN Movies Metcalf and the other actors have a relatively easy job in the premiere because the joke writing is so well done. Rated: 8.5/10 Sep 27, 2013 Full Review Read all reviews
