When Netflix talks about making shows that are “gourmet cheeseburgers”, The Diplomat is it. It's a lesson in how to make TV that is incredibly binge-y, entertaining, and doesn’t make you feel like an idiot for liking it. Go to Full Review

Janney is this series’ saving grace, because until her arrival things are too gloomy. Go to Full Review

Season two elevates the stakes, becomes faster-paced, and ultimately has more explosiveness than the first. It may occasionally feel overwhelming, but the results are impressive. Russell crushes once again. Go to Full Review

Was mich störte, Stuart. Alles andere hingegen funktioniert top. See more Ivan L @ivanl69 Nov 20 Again truly an awesome political thriller! The drama between all the characters and the sudden shifts in story are exhilarating. See more Greg S Nov 11 "The Diplomat" Season 2 dives back into geopolitical chaos, but the real crisis remains the exhausting relationship between Ambassador Kate Wyler (Keri Russell) and her ex-ambassador husband, Hal (Rufus Sewell). Despite surviving a car bomb and facing down international conspiracies, Kate remains fundamentally unsatisfied. She spends the season ripping into Hal at nearly every turn, regardless of whether he's helping or hindering the mission. Meanwhile, Hal is transparently, deeply in love with her, pursuing her both personally and professionally with relentless, puppy-dog devotion. While the snappy dialogue is still present, Kate’s constant complaining and whiplash-inducing discontent are starting to wear thin. What was initially a prickly edge has morphed into a repetitive, high-volume whine that distracts from the political stakes. We are ready for Kate to acknowledge, at least once, that the man who sees her best may also be the one who knows how to keep her in the game. See more Catherine S Oct 30 Sharp Script and So Tidy ! No sloppy writing or loose ends Love this season ! Great scene in the snow i do not know how they managed that ! See more Kyle J. @KyleJ Oct 27 Re Season 1. As Maude Lebowski would say, the story is ludicrous. See more Thoki T @Thokozani Oct 23 Good acting sometimes but so overshadowed by trying to be edgy with all of the cultural baggage of our times. Masculinity is sexy but only employed by woman. Femininity is weak and only employed by men. None of the positions of power mean anything other than nihilistic self aggrandizement and rent seeking. Sham of a show unfortunately and far from the true and convoluted nature of humanity. This series is disheveled and stinks. See more Read all reviews
