John Anderson Wall Street Journal There are only so many conventions one can avoid in putting together mysteries about epidemic murder in tiny English villages... “Marlow” begs our indulgence, in other words, but given its various charms, it needn’t make very much effort doing so. Oct 30, 2024 Full Review Joly Herman Common Sense Media A charming mystery with great female leads, this show builds slowly but doesn't lean on shock to create intrigue. Nov 13, 2024 Full Review Meghan O'Keefe Decider Look, groundbreaking it sure is not, but cozy, it most definitely is. Oct 28, 2024 Full Review Read all reviews

Nancy M We enjoyed this show. It’s not cozy, definitely not gritty. Good characters and good performances. It’s easy on the brain and senses but not insulting. We’re looking forward to the next season. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/25/24 Full Review William R One of the slowest murder mysteries that I've ever watched on PBS ridiculous plot in regards to whenever they found out some valuable information they didn't turn it over to the police. He should have stayed home, drinking tea and eating crumpets. Boring! Rated 1 out of 5 stars 11/07/24 Full Review Jonathan M An "Only Murders In the Building" wannabe, but with better scenery. Devolves into ridiculousness very quickly. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 10/31/24 Full Review Rachael E If you look at the credits women are the main characters, yet the men are the creatives. It would have been better to have a woman as the director and at least written the script adapted from the book by a woman because these characters, the women, act like an idealist and often cute version of what a person really is because of the script and the direction. They lack dimension. The script jumps around. And the direction is adequate. The art direction is good which makes it enjoyable to at least look at it. The cinematography is pleasant. Jo Martin gives a stand out performance. I wish her character would have been able to show more of her serious emotions instead of being directed to be adorable and funny most of the time. Most characters had little transitions they just changed with an instant whim, to satisfy the script. Or was that because of the editing as well? Either way most of their performances were jerky and made no sense. The dog and cat were nice touches to the show. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 11/01/24 Full Review Read all reviews
