Based on the novel by Matthew Quirk, The Night Agent is a sophisticated, character-based, action-thriller centering on a low level FBI Agent who works in the basement of the White House, manning a phone that never rings -- until the night that it does, propelling him into a fast-moving and dangerous conspiracy that ultimately leads all the way to the Oval Office.

The Night Agent has become a victim of its own success. A pale imitation of itself, phoning it in. Go to Full Review

Tellingly, the show doesn’t want to grapple with the way Peter’s hero complex has dulled his humanity. Go to Full Review

Season 2 is a little messier, a little more self-serious and at times slower than the satisfying first go-round, but "Night Agent" still delivers. Go to Full Review

...Episode 5, which is probably my favorite episode of this season. However, the dominoes that fall after that episode kick off a very strong back-half of the season. Go to Full Review

Of all the espionage thrillers out there, The Night Agent stands out for putting some realistic natural consequences to characters’ choices....watching a team regroup after a setback is fascinating when done right. The Night Agent does it all very right. Go to Full Review

Philip G. @Kurosawa 1d Season 2 continues the absurdities. Peter, who is the worst spy, or whatever night Agents are supposed to be is able to beat up two Iranian enforcers and somehow exit the Iranian embassy undetected. In fact, Peter is always detected because he’s so bad at doing whatever he’s supposed to do. Rose is actually the most comptent person on the show, and she’s not even supposed to be involved in covert activities. Anyway, next, Peter manages to get into the UN and get all the way into secure locations by saying “Im IT, then gets clear across the huge building by literally twisting a guy’s thumb, and somehow escape the UN undetected, not because he’s good but because security at the UN is even worse that the Iranian embassy. By the way, a team of a dozen heavily armed bad guys also walk into the UN carrying bombs and come with seconds of blowing up the UN … it’s always seconds before Rose of course saves the world. So the season ends with Peter coming up with the lamest excuse ever to ditch a girlfriend I’ve ever heard. It’s because he can’t keep putting her at risk. The irony is that Night Action should have fired Peter and hired Rose. So in to next season, where Peter won’t have the beautiful Rose to break all the codes and do his job. Absolute waste of time and really stupid ending. See more SUZANNE L. @action_fan Mar 2 Enjoyed the show and waiting for the next season. I don’t like the long period in between. See more Thomas W @Thomas192 Mar 1 Not as good as season one See more Jermaine T. Feb 24 How the 2nd season has 90% RT is beyond crazy. The character of Rose should of ended 1st season. She makes it hard to watch and the rest of the actors aren't to much better. This was a hard season to watch and enjoy. I found myself fast forwarding scenes because I felt like it was a waste of time. See more Sam H @redjellydonut Feb 23 First season was engaging, with perfectly fine performances. Second season offered up mediocre performances and silly plotting. See more Read all reviews
