Based on the novel by Matthew Quirk, The Night Agent is a sophisticated, character-based, action-thriller centering on a low level FBI Agent who works in the basement of the White House, manning a phone that never rings -- until the night that it does, propelling him into a fast-moving and dangerous conspiracy that ultimately leads all the way to the Oval Office.

Michael Hogan Daily Telegraph (UK) The Night Agent has become a victim of its own success. A pale imitation of itself, phoning it in. Rated: 2/5 Jan 30, 2025 Full Review Nina Metz Chicago Tribune Tellingly, the show doesn’t want to grapple with the way Peter’s hero complex has dulled his humanity. Rated: 2/4 Jan 24, 2025 Full Review Kelly Lawler USA Today Season 2 is a little messier, a little more self-serious and at times slower than the satisfying first go-round, but "Night Agent" still delivers. Rated: 3/4 Jan 24, 2025 Full Review Marlon Wallace The M Report (WBOC.com) ...Episode 5, which is probably my favorite episode of this season. However, the dominoes that fall after that episode kick off a very strong back-half of the season. Jul 12, 2025 Full Review Mini Anthikad-Chhibber The Hindu Gabriel Basso invests his character with conviction, saving the day and the sophomore season from screeching to a sluggish stop May 16, 2025 Full Review Diana Keng Geek Girl Authority Of all the espionage thrillers out there, The Night Agent stands out for putting some realistic natural consequences to characters’ choices....watching a team regroup after a setback is fascinating when done right. The Night Agent does it all very right. Mar 13, 2025 Full Review Read all reviews

Mia S Loved it!!! Dont believe the negative, season 2 is way better than season 1!! Cant wait for season 3 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/12/25 Full Review Stephen M This show was fine in season 1 but it just gets so predictable and also wildly unbelievable in season 2. Rose Larkin is a top 5 worst character in anything I have ever watched. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 07/03/25 Full Review Cade H. Series lost its steam after the first season. Season 2 seems aimless and frustrating to watch at points, not to mention the pacing of the this season makes binge watching a slog Rated 2 out of 5 stars 06/29/25 Full Review Stephen C 10 unsuccessful episodes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 06/04/25 Full Review Mohammad Faysal R As a committed fan of The Night Agent, I’ve appreciated the show’s balance of political intrigue, character depth, and grounded action. However, I was disappointed by the handling of a critical moment in Season 2 — the scene in which Farhad is killed by Sami. Farhad’s death was clearly meant to raise emotional stakes and push Noor’s arc forward. I understand the narrative purpose of this moment. But the execution felt rushed, poorly written, and inconsistent with established character behavior — especially that of Sami. Sami is a seasoned, principled agent who has previously demonstrated restraint and tactical control. In this case, however, he takes a lethal shot without hesitation, without trying a non-lethal disarm, de-escalation, or even a verbal exchange. It felt out of character, emotionally flat, and oddly choreographed — as if Farhad’s death was used merely to advance the plot rather than to enrich it. The scene could have been far more powerful and believable if: Farhad had been injured in a crossfire or a more chaotic situation. There was a struggle or hesitation that reflected Sami's inner conflict. The aftermath explored the emotional fallout more deeply — especially with Noor. This moment broke immersion for me and many other viewers who value consistency and emotional authenticity in high-stakes storytelling. I hope future seasons maintain the strong writing we’ve come to expect and handle pivotal character deaths with the nuance and realism they deserve. — A loyal viewer who still believes in this show’s potential Rated 3 out of 5 stars 05/24/25 Full Review Panos F The plot is weaker than the first season, but the real problem is the characters. They are just not all that compelling, and it's really sad because they keep setting stuff up (Rose going back to California, or Peter slowly becoming more willing to work against the individuals and losing his humanity for the greater good) but they never pay off. Overall, not a bad season but it's a real letdown compared to its first season Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 05/20/25 Full Review Read all reviews
