Based on the novel by Matthew Quirk, The Night Agent is a sophisticated, character-based, action-thriller centering on a low level FBI Agent who works in the basement of the White House, manning a phone that never rings -- until the night that it does, propelling him into a fast-moving and dangerous conspiracy that ultimately leads all the way to the Oval Office.

Michael Hogan Daily Telegraph (UK) The Night Agent has become a victim of its own success. A pale imitation of itself, phoning it in. Rated: 2/5 Jan 30, 2025 Full Review Nina Metz Chicago Tribune Tellingly, the show doesn’t want to grapple with the way Peter’s hero complex has dulled his humanity. Rated: 2/4 Jan 24, 2025 Full Review Kelly Lawler USA Today Season 2 is a little messier, a little more self-serious and at times slower than the satisfying first go-round, but "Night Agent" still delivers. Rated: 3/4 Jan 24, 2025 Full Review Diana Keng Geek Girl Authority Of all the espionage thrillers out there, The Night Agent stands out for putting some realistic natural consequences to characters’ choices....watching a team regroup after a setback is fascinating when done right. The Night Agent does it all very right. Mar 13, 2025 Full Review Ronak Kotecha The Times of India Season 2 proves that the series has plenty of fuel left in its tank. It’s a high-octane thrill ride that may not always be perfect but never fails to entertain. Rated: 3.5/5 Mar 12, 2025 Full Review Tony Medley CWEB.com The second season of The Night Agent is even better than the first, and that’s saying a lot, since my understanding is that the first season was Netflix’s highest rated show. Jeffrey H This season was a huge disappointment. The plot is absurd. The characters are no longer likable. I really don’t care what happens. I’ll watch the last few episodes but after that, if there is a season 3, I’m not interested. The writing is terrible. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 04/22/25 Full Review Thomas S Not as good as season 1. Trouble is the characters are just hard to care about. The woman constantly talking about returning to California; go already. The senior agent - zero charisma. Formulaic plot we have seen hundreds of times in films. The constant jump back on time to fill back story that - well we don’t really need. I find myself using to ffwd button on the remote often , skipping scenes that I’m just not interested in. This is a skip. Watch season one. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 04/14/25 Full Review Diana M I stopped at episode 3 a couple of days ago but made myself finish the season just to finish it. I had high hopes for the 2nd season since the 1st one knocked it out of the park! 2nd season consisted of me yelling at the screen every time desperate Rose opened her mouth along with the terrible acting of Peter Sutherland! Consultants to the show gave terrible advice allowing for the actors to make so many mistakes that the creator should have seen. Overall extremely bad acting & very disappointed & surprised that Netflix has greenlit this show for a 3rd season... Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 04/08/25 Full Review Christian E First season was novel and pretty darn good. This one is a poor remake. Nothing new. Just a lot of running and silly fighting and nothing really believable. Poor writing. Good effort by the actors to bring this dog to life, but the expiration date has come a lot sooner than I thought it would. I will pass on the rest of it. Just boring at this point. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 04/03/25 Full Review Tropical J The first season was entertaining enough but the second season is just so poorly written. The director is overly fond of chase scenes, one after another after another. The dialogue is uninspired and the whole storyline muddled. I stopped watching after four episodes. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 04/02/25 Full Review John B Season 2 could not have been worse. I hated the two main characters who never could really act but at least were likable in season 1. The plot was lame and totally unbelievable. At least the entire season was bad which will save me the time of ever watching another season.
