Nathan Fielder returns to television to explore the lengths one person will go to reduce the uncertainties of everyday life. Fielder stars as the director of rehearsals, which are elaborately staged scenarios re-creating parts of ordinary people's lives that are meant to help them prepare for a big moment in their lives. A construction crew, a legion of actors and seemingly unlimited resources all come together to allow ordinary people to rehearse for these moments by giving them the opportunity to play them out in carefully crafted simulations of Fielder's own design.

What to Know

Critics Consensus

Never fear, Nathan Fielder is here to solve air travel safety and further his frustrated quest for human connection in a second Rehearsal that's just as audacious, cringey, and uproariously funny as the first.

Richard Brody The New Yorker The second season of “The Rehearsal” is instantly better than the first because it’s about something. May 5, 2025 Full Review Shirley Li The Atlantic Fundamentally a deep dive into one man’s existential crisis, wrapped in a study of disaster prevention. If that sounds bleak... look at it this way instead: Fielder is not unlike the pilots he’s studying, struggling to articulate himself under duress. May 5, 2025 Full Review Will Sloan Globe and Mail If I suggest that The Rehearsal is becoming a little too much of a good thing, I might feel like the emperor from Amadeus complaining about “too many notes.” And yet. Apr 24, 2025 Full Review Nathan Chizen Exclaim! 'The Rehearsal' delivers a "docuseries" that flits between abject artificiality and questionable reality with a simple, almost invisible grace. Rated: 10/10 May 14, 2025 Full Review Alberto Carlos Espinof The panoramic vision that [Nathan Fielder] presents, without leaving behind the tremendously bizarre and peculiar...and its great comedy, is impeccable in both form and content. [Full review in Spanish] Rated: 4.5/5 May 12, 2025 Full Review James Preston Poole But Why Tho? A Geek Community The Rehearsal Season 2 is peak television. Nathan Fielder has never been this ambitious, or perhaps deranged, giving audiences a wild ride that doesn't resemble anything else on television.
