Matthew Gilbert Boston Globe I found the first season compelling, if a bit unnecessarily twisty... Amnesia is a TV drama cliché, but “The Tourist” gives it some punch. Feb 28, 2024 Full Review Kayleigh Dray AV Club On paper, The Tourist season two sounds like it just doesn’t work. Yet somehow, it does. It’s a bit like one of those Magic Eye pictures; you have to actively ignore the finer details to make it all make sense. Rated: B+ Feb 26, 2024 Full Review Randy Myers San Jose Mercury News While “The Tourist” samples from the same trough as “Fargo” and even, at times, “Pulp Fiction,” it’s still a hog-heaven meal all to its own thanks in large part to Dornan and Macdonald. Rated: 3/4 Feb 1, 2024 Full Review Kate Bove Screen Rant While it doesn't recapture season 1's singular magic, The Tourist season 2 is a compelling thrill ride thanks to Jamie Dornan & Danielle Macdonald. Rated: 3/5 Apr 3, 2024 Full Review Chris Joyce Movies and Munchies (YouTube) The narrative is heavy with complexities but manages to keep the storylines clear, making them collide for an exciting and tense climax. Rated: 4/5 Mar 5, 2024 Full Review Sarah Ward Concrete Playground Some on-screen collaborations simply demand more opportunities to keep shining, and Dornan with Macdonald is one of them. Audience Member Not as good as Season 1. Still watchable and overall I enjoyed it. Some of the plot didn't really work and characters crowbarred in for continuity, like Ethan. They could have expanded Claire into a bigger role and the scenes in Ruairi's basement were just unnecessary and added nothing to the story. The dramatic scenes between the warring families held the whole thing together and the Russian link, highlighted in the very last scene should have been played on more. Maybe that's where Season 3 is going. Overall the cinematography and some of the acting saved it and it was enjoyable enough. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/10/25 Full Review Richard L Clearly different writers for season two. I'm on episode 2 and I shut it off. It's all cliche cliche cliche of moments in other films in history. Its like the copied things from other tv and movies, and did it worse. Any original ideas? No? When he runs to the edge of the island and the two follow, I said,"i swear to god if he is hanging off the cliff, im turning it off.". He was. And they even had moments of talking where he is hanging and switching hands. This is all God awful writing cliche cinematic things of the past. I'm flabbergasted rotten tomatoes gave it such a good score. Clearly I can't trust rotten tomatoes anymore. Must be like yelp. Pay us and will give you a high rating. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/22/25 Full Review Jack F Enjoyed season 1. Must be new writers. We didn't make it through the whole first episode. Tuned out right after the Irish detective was crying because his blow up doll fell over. Who writes this crap? Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 12/22/24 Full Review Sarah F Jamie is brilliant in it, but I sadly agree with another reviewer that Danielle not so, and lack of chemistry between them. Much of the wider supporting cast were good, convincing. Some parts of the plot too weird and unnecessary. Could have been much better, there were lots of elements that made it good. But the negative stuff was too distracting and didn’t maintain my investment in the whole thing/characters. Shame. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 11/04/24 Full Review Ted B 3.5 stars; Just as bingeable as s Season 1. I was happy how well they maintained the storyline. The cast was just as superb as before. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 09/15/24 Full Review Agustina M The whole series was a little weird for me, there were parts i considered as cringe and that i would've just take them off. The first season was good and it kept you interested on the story line but on the second one, there are many changes and it felt like it was never going to end, it's really boring and the finale episode i think was one of the worst, specially the finale scene Rated 3 out of 5 stars 08/19/24 Full Review Read all reviews
