See more Shai S @breadeater Dec 17 Any truly honest way of describing the experience of this show is going to sound hyperbolic because it is just that good. I had no relationship to the books going in but had secondhand knowledge of canon from my family, who have each read the series multiple times and commented on every change (note, I have since started reading the books because the show makes it impossible not to crave more story). The adaptational changes at play are clever, well thought out and display an intimate and profound understanding and love for the original narrative. This is the kind of project that only comes along once in a very long while, serves a massive helping of innovation, and usually is not appreciated right away for its high level of technical excellence because it hasn't yet had the chance to stand the test of time. And was really sad when it was cancelled. So i cancelled my prime subscription. I didn’t read the bookd because i hate reading. And I think its like comparing a apple and a potato. So anyways really loved the series! They cancelled when it was at its peak. See more Brian M @QuantumMouse Dec 7 Wheel of Time is one of the very best screen adaptations of fantasy novels in a long time. It hands-down exceeds expectations. Characters are relatable, motivations are well portrayed, plot and visual design are excellent, and acting is top-tier. It does not spoon feed the audience, yet remains accessible for those who have not read the books. For those who have read the books (like me) in some ways it improves on them. Characters, especially several villains have more depth. The world's visuals are superbly done, filling in elements, without contradicting the source material. Purists might dislike the story re-organization and shortening, but in most regards it is a solid, if slimmer re-telling. And it cuts some of the repetition in the novels and some of the the rinse and repeat sequence of "mini-bosses". All in all it is an exciting and sometimes quite moving retelling. I do not hesitate to recommend it nor would I hesitate to watch should it continue past season 3. See more Read all reviews
