Sylvester Stallone kills it in the role as Dwight Manfredi and provides a lot in an otherwise gripping, consistent and well-rounded season of television that builds tension and its characters in a graceful way. There are a few segments in its story that could have been refined as well as some predictable aspects to it, but this was nevertheless such a fun watch.

Fun and ridiculous action episodic if you don't think about anything for more than 30 seconds. It's basically "Banshee" or "Reacher" with Stallone in Tulsa. Tough guy with a past arrives in a small town and things happen. The writing isn't ground breaking. Not sure why everyone praises Sheridan for crapping out mediocre shows in bulk. This one is OK, but it has been done a million times before and better.

I really enjoyed season 1 of Tulsa King. I was apprehensive about how Stallone would play out, but I was impressed. This season does set the stall for an even better season 2 (which I have now watched) and I do feel there is more to come. It’s a mix between Getty gangster, humour (in the way they deliver their power) and a generalised story which you’re able to follow throughout the season.

How on earth did this show get made? The entire premise is "Sly Stallone is a mafia capo...in....TuLSa oKLaHOmA???!!?!?" As with any Sheridan production, the show is insanely unrealistic. Stallone goes around just...violently assaulting innocent people, demanding protection money from a legal dispensary, etc. No one fights back, calls the cops, etc. They just go with it. Super dumb.
