You wisely wraps things up just before Joe Goldberg's murderous machinations become stale, delivering a final season that ought to satisfy most viewers' morbid curiosity.

Saloni Gajjar AV Club You's final season is sadly drawn-out and confounding. While Penn Badgley is still terrifyingly great at playing a menace, and he’s joined by a captivating Madeline Brewer this time around, the show struggles to stick its (predictable) landing. Rated: C+ May 6, 2025 Full Review Eric Deggans NPR This show always offers compelling twists, lending a few surprises to a storyline which is otherwise kind of predictable and a little overwrought -- to say nothing of the whole "making viewers root for a serial killer" thing. May 1, 2025 Full Review Cristina Escobar RogerEbert.com The show sees and names our guilt, giving us perhaps a better ending than we deserve. Apr 25, 2025 Full Review Sharai Bohannon Anatomy of a Scream Podcast Network The final season of 'You' is still surprisingly addictive, frustrating, and interesting as most seasons of the series. Anna Camp does a lot of heavy lifting, but Penn Badgley is locked in again and what a sight to be behold. May 23, 2025 Full Review Mini Anthikad-Chhibber The Hindu Bibliophile serial killer, Joe Goldberg’s triumphant return to the Big Apple is marred by old and new threats in the ludicrous final season May 16, 2025 Full Review Alex Maidy JoBlo's Movie Network Fans will have their own take on whether they like how You closes out, but I appreciate the commitment to telling this story in a way that is bold and unexpected. Trevor H if you watched seasons 1 through 4 and loved this show, do yourself a favor, and skip this season. it will ruin the rest for you, i promise. uninspired, boring, unrealistic writing. things happen for no reason, the logic is inconsistent, incredibly poor choices made by characters, weird pacing...the works. it's an unsatisfying ending for sure, but it's also just bad all-around. i'll excuse a bad ending if i'm at least enjoying it, but this was just...ugh. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 06/01/25 Full Review Elliot A I'm only giving the final season 2 stars because the first 8 episodes were decent, then the final two episodes became completely unlogical, it's like the writers decided that 3 of the characters were invincible, never explained how they returned from what happened two them no logical reasoning, apparently people can die but just come back because the plot chooses for it too. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 05/31/25 Full Review THE NASHVILLE I There's something about the last season that's difficult to watch. The new lead girl's not enjoyable at all....but also the specific predicament this season is just not that great. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 05/29/25 Full Review ivram A Impossível aquelas duas mulheres terem saído vivas Rated 1 out of 5 stars 05/28/25 Full Review Gabriela P I actually love the ending. As much as my alter ego rooted for Joe, it brought me peace to see justice being served. It's a great take on a serial killers mentality, they don't see the world the way we do, and maybe if we saw the world the way they see it like we got to see Joe's, we'd have some more understanding for them. It also shows have easy it is to fall for their charm and manipulation. The ending was as realistic as it could have been for a show of this nature in my opinion. It was bitter sweet, as life often is. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/27/25 Full Review NOVADRAGON 0 The final season felt lacking at many instances such as storytelling and past characters plot its as if they just forgot the victims who truly were the victim of joe such as Dr Nicky . it would have been great to see him along with nadia and other victims to take joe down for good not giving him a happy ending which felt as if joe justified his actions instead of blaming himself and that ruins the story . and the season finale was even worse . it should have ended at season 4 and if they wanted to make season 5 then i think episode 9 could have been a better ending where joe should have died with kate giving them both the consequences of their actions and a good realisation of their mistakes.
