Sam Harris worked on a variety of projects during his entertainment career. In 1999, he announced as the star of the Broadway-bound biographical musical "The Jazz Singer," although the production never reached fruition. In 1976, he left home at age 15; moved to Missouri to perform at Six Flags Over St. Louis. In 1990, he appeared in West Coast productions of "Jesus Christ Superstar," "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat," and "Cabaret." In 1989, he played six characters in the stage musical "Hard Copy" and also wrote the show, which played for six months in L.A. In 1984, he released first album. In 2001, he starred as Claude in the L.A. Reprise! staging of "Hair." He moved to L.A. to attend college. He raised in Sand Springs, Oklahoma. In 1963, he began singing in public at age two. He worked in television in his early acting career as well, including a part on "You Write the Songs" (1986-87). He appeared in a number of television specials, including "Motown Returns to the Apollo" (NBC, 1984-85) and "A Capitol Fourth (1998)" (PBS, 1997-98). In the nineties and the early 2000s, Harris devoted his time to various credits, such as "Love Letter to New York" (PBS, 1999-2000), "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" (CBS, 2000-2015) and "In the Weeds" (2000). He also worked on "Michael Jackson: 30th Anniversary Celebration" (CBS, 2001-02). Harris's music was most recently used in the thriller "Project Almanac" (2015) with Sam Lerner. Harris also contributed music to "Hitman: Agent 47" (2015) with Rupert Friend.
