A Boogie wit da Hoodie
Born December 6, 1995 in the Bronx, New York, Artist Julius Dubose would come to be known professionally as singer-songwriter A Boogie wit da Hoodie. Raised in the Highbridge neighborhood of the Bronx, A Boogie began writing lyrics and freestyling as early as 12 years old. After spending a few years at a high school in Florida, he returned to Highbridge with the drive to pursue a career as a rapper. With Bubba and Don Q, A Boogie formed the independent record label Highbridge and released his first mixtape "Artist" (2016). The project generated a significant buzz that would see A Boogie opening for Future and Drake concerts. His first EP, "TBA" (2016) reached number 63 on the US Billboard 200. In June 2017, A Boogie was listed in XXL's freshman class. In September 2017, he dropped his first studio album "The Bigger Artist" which included the hit single "Drowning" featuring Kodak Black. His second studio album "Hoodie SZN" (2018) was even more successful debuting at number 2 on the US Billboard 200. A Boogie's rapid rise into stardom led to dozens of collaborations with artists, several of which would appear on his equally successful third studio album "Artist 2.0" (2020). After taking a brief break during the Covid 19 pandemic and struggling with leaks of his songs to the public, A Boogie released his highly anticipated fourth album "Me vs. Myself" in early December of 2022. It reached number 6 on the US Billboard 200 and led to an enormous sold-out tour of North America and Europe. A Boogie wit da Hoodie contributed to the soundtrack of the "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse" (2023) with the lead single "Calling" in collaboration with Swae Lee and Nav.
