Adrienne-Joi Johnson

Throughout her entertainment career as an accomplished actress, A.J. Johnson graced the silver screen many times. She appeared in a number of television specials, including "Coming to America" (CBS, 1988-89) and "A Mother's Courage: The Mary Thomas Story" (NBC, 1989-1990). Johnson worked in television around the start of her acting career with a role on "In the Heat of the Night" (CBS, 1987-1994). Her film career continued throughout the nineties in productions like the action flick "Double Trouble" (1992) with Peter Paul, the Whoopi Goldberg box office smash musical comedy "Sister Act" (1992) and the period drama "The Inkwell" (1994) with Larenz Tate. Her work around this time also included a part on the TV movie "Murder Without Motive: The Edmund Perry Story" (NBC, 1991-92). Film continued to be her passion as she played roles in the action film "Hoodrat" (2001) with Isaiah Washington and the Tyrese Gibson drama "Baby Boy" (2001). Most recently, Johnson worked on "Flab to Fab" (VH1, 2003-04).
