Arthur Treacher
Arthur Treacher was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Treacher's career in acting began with his roles in various films like "The Battle of Paris" (1929), the Barbara Stanwyck drama "Gambling Lady" (1934) and the Joan Crawford dramatic adaptation "Forsaking All Others" (1934). He also appeared in the dramatic adaptation "The Key" (1934) with William Powell, the musical "Curly Top" (1935) with Shirley Temple Black and the drama "The Woman in Red" (1935) with Barbara Stanwyck. He kept working in film throughout the thirties, starring in the Shirley Temple Black musical "Stowaway" (1936), the Marion Davies adaptation "Hearts Divided" (1936) and "Under Your Spell" (1936) with Lawrence Tibbett. He also appeared in "Mr. Cinderella" (1936). Film continued to be his passion as he played roles in the musical "The Little Princess" (1939) with Shirley Temple Black, the musical "Irene" (1940) with Anna Neagle and the Priscilla Lane comedy "Brother Rat and a Baby" (1940). He also appeared in "Star Spangled Rhythm" (1942) and the comedy "The Amazing Mrs Holliday" (1943) with Deanna Durbin. Treacher last acted in "Mary Poppins" (1964) with Julie Andrews. Treacher passed away in December 1975 at the age of 81.
