Avis Bunnage was widely known for her acting on the big screen. Bunnage kickstarted her acting career in various films such as "Expresso Bongo" (1959), the drama "Saturday Night and Sunday Morning" (1961) with Albert Finney and "The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner" (1962). She also appeared in the Leslie Caron dramatic adaptation "The L-Shaped Room" (1963) and the comedy adaptation "Tom Jones" (1963) with Albert Finney. She continued to work steadily in film throughout the sixties and the eighties, appearing in "Rotten to the Core" (1965) with Anton Rodgers, "The Whisperers" (1967) and the Peter Noone musical comedy "Mrs. Brown You've Got a Lovely Daughter" (1968). She also appeared in "Gandhi" (1982) with Ben Kingsley. She also was featured in the TV movie "Forbidden" (HBO, 1984-85). Bunnage more recently acted in the Billie Whitelaw dramatic biopic "The Krays" (1990).
