Barney Furey
Barney Furey was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Furey's career in acting began with his roles in various films like "The Mile a Minute Man" (1926), the Tom Mix western "King Cowboy" (1928) and "Lightning Speed" (1928). He also appeared in the western "'Neath Western Skies" (1929) with Tom Tyler and "Gun Law" (1929). His film career continued throughout the twenties and the thirties in productions like "Idaho Red" (1929), the western "Outlawed" (1929) with Tom Mix and "The Big Diamond Robbery" (1929) with Tom Mix. He also appeared in "The Drifter" (1929) and the Regis Toomey mystery "The Penal Code" (1932). Film continued to be his passion as he played roles in "When a Man Rides Alone" (1933), the ZaSu Pitts comedy "The Meanest Gal in Town" (1934) and the Buster Crabbe western "Nevada" (1935). He also appeared in the western "The Silent Code" (1935) with Kane Richmond. Furey last acted in the western "The Law Rides" (1936) with Bob Steele. Furey passed away in January 1938 at the age of 52.
