Veteran cinematographer Billy Dickson has worked on some of network television's most successful shows, including the quirky legal series "Ally McBeal" and ensemble drama "One Tree Hill." Dickson began his career as a director of photography in 1976 on the low-budget action flick "Zebra Force." He continued to work consistently and extensively in television for the next two decades. He often worked on TV movies, including the sci-fi spin-off "Babylon 5: The Gathering" in 1993 and the swapped-identity thriller "As Good as Dead" in 1995, before moving on to series work with 10 episodes of the steamy cop series "The Big Easy" in 1996. A year later he began to work on"Ally McBeal," which would be among the most successful and consistent projects of his career. Dickson worked as cinematographer on over 100 episodes (resulting in two Emmy nominations) and even directed a few himself. In 2003 he began working on "One Tree Hill," again splitting duties as D.P. and director. Taking on an even greater creative role, Dickson launched the sci-fi Web series "IQ-145," which he created, directed, edited, and shot.
