Carole Mathews
Actress Carole Mathews was known for her roles on the silver screen. Mathews's earliest roles were in film, including "She's a Sweetheart" (1944), the Allyn Joslyn mystery "Strange Affair" (1944) and "The Missing Juror" (1944). She also appeared in the Cornel Wilde adventure "A Thousand and One Nights" (1945), "I Love a Mystery" (1945) with Jim Bannon and "The Monster and the Ape" (1945). She continued to act in productions like the crime flick "Chicago Deadline" (1949) with Alan Ladd, "The Accused" (1949) and the dramatic adaptation "The Great Gatsby" (1949) with Alan Ladd. She also appeared in "Cry Murder" (1950) and the Barbara Stanwyck drama "No Man of Her Own" (1950). Toward the end of her career, she continued to act in "The Man With My Face" (1951), "Swamp Women" (1956) and the Charles Bronson western "Showdown at Boot Hill" (1958). She also appeared in the drama "Look in Any Window" (1961) with Paul Anka. She held additional roles in television including a part on "The Californians" (NBC, 1957-59). Mathews more recently acted in "Tender Is the Night" (1962) with Jennifer Jones.
