Colby Minifie is a versatile American stage, film and TV actress, who was best known for her recurring roles on "Jessica Jones" (Netflix, 2015-19), "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" (Amazon Prime, 2017- ), and "Fear the Walking Dead" (AMC, 2015- ). Born in New York in 1992, Minifie was a curious young girl who had various different interests. She loved going horseback riding with her cousins, and was also fond of dancing and acting. She attended the National Dance Institute in New York City for four years, where she studied ballet under the acclaimed dance teacher Jacques d'Amboise. Acting, however, was where Colby Minifie's true passion was. She began acting professionally at the young age of 11 and by 13 had made her Broadway debut in Martin McDonagh's dark comedy "The Pillowman." More theatrical roles followed, thus allowing Minifie's to hone her fledgling acting craft on a consistent basis. She eventually caught the attention of the YoungArts Foundation, which was established to help nurture the talents of emerging high school artists, and was awarded one of the foundation's highly sought after scholarships. While continuing to make waves both on Broadway ("Six Degrees of Separation"; "Long Day's Journey Into the Night") and Off ("Punk Rock"; "Close Up Space"), by the late 2000s Minifie began fattening up her acting resume by also appearing in films and TV shows. She made her film debut in 2009 romantic drama "The Greatest" (2009), and followed that up with guest spots on "Glee" (Fox, 2009-2015), "Nurse Jackie" (Showtime, 2009-2015), and "The Blacklist" (NBC, 2013- ). By the mid-2010s Minifie's screen acting career was consistently gaining steam. Then in 2015 she nabbed her first big break when she was cast in the recurring role of Robyn on the Netflix superhero series "Jessica Jones." Minifie played Robyn on five episodes of the show's first season, thus making her a familiar face to the show's numerous die-hard fans. When her role on "Jessica Jones" ended, Minifie spent the next three years appearing in a number of films, like "Submission" (2017), "The Super" (2017), and "Radium Girls" (2018). She returned to TV in 2018 with a recurring role on the critically-acclaimed Amazon Prime period comedy "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel," and the following year nabbed a recurring role on the action crime comedy series "The Boys" (Amazon Prime, 2019- ). Nearly 15 years into her professional screen acting career, by late 2019 Minifie showed no signs of slowing down. In addition to nabbing a recurring role as Virginia on "Fear the Walking Dead," a role that required her to brush up on her horseback riding skills after nearly a decade, Minifie was also slated to appear in a supporting capacity in Charlie Kaufman's dark horror thriller "I'm Thinking of Ending Things" (2020). That film, which starred Jessie Plemons and Toni Collette, was released in early 2020.
