David Labrava
David Labrava was a genuine petrol head. Born in Miami, Labrava first started dirt biking after moving to Europe, he returned to California at the age of 15 and graduated to his first Harley Davidson at 17. He spent some time as a member of the Hell's Angels, though exact details are scarce as Labrava preferred not to talk about his time with the motorcycle club in interviews. A passionate and articulate biker, Labrava started writing for Horse Motorcycle magazine and built a bike that featured on the cover in 2001. He started working in film as a camera operator on a number of unspecified productions for Zalman King Company and even appeared on screen in "Zalman Kings SeX, Y & Z" (2003) and hosted documentary series "Whiplash ZK" (2008). "Sons of Anarchy" (FX, 2008-2014) creator Kurt Sutter hired Labrava as technical advisor to give his world of outlaw bikers an added level of authenticity. Labrava petitioned for a chance to try out for "SOA" and Sutter was so impressed with his audition he joined the regular cast as club enforcer Happy. Labrava had previously studied script writing and ended up with a writer's credit on the episode 'Hands' in season four. Off-screen Labrava was an accomplished tattoo artist with his own studio, Evil Ink, in Oakland, CA, and wrote a regular column for motor magazine Old Skool Rodz. In 2015 Labrava wrote, directed and starred in feature film "Street Level."
