Demetrius Navarro

Acclaimed actor Demetrius Navarro made his film debut in 1994 in the comedy "Floundering." The following year, he snagged a role in the popular Ice Cube comedy "Friday," and made his television debut in "Walker, Texas Ranger." After a string of guest spots on television series that include "Moesha," "Malibu Shores," and "JAG," Navarro landed a recurring role as paramedic Morales on the long-running Chicago set hospital drama "ER." His work on the show would earn him an ALMA Award nod. In 2000, he became a series regular on the sitcom "Los Beltrán." Despite the show's short-run, it earned much acclaim including an ALMA Award for Outstanding Spanish Language Comedy Series. In 2004, Navarro began producing his own works, the first of which was the thriller "The Last Letter" in which he co-starred. The following year, "Short Fuse" was produced from a script Navarro had penned, and four years later he made his directorial debut with "The Fish." After "ER" wrapped, Navarro dove into his own work full tilt. In 2010, Navarro debuted three films, "Lean Like a Cholo," "Ditching Party," "Gone Hollywood," on which he served as writer, director, producer, and actor.
