Donald Pickering was an actor who was no stranger to being featured in numerous film roles throughout his Hollywood career. Pickering kickstarted his acting career in various films such as the Dirk Bogarde adaptation sequel "Doctor at Large" (1957), "Carry On, Admiral" (1957) and the Alan Bates dramatic comedy "Nothing But the Best" (1964). He also appeared in the adaptation "Fahrenheit 451" (1966) with Oskar Werner, the dramatic adventure "A Challenge For Robin Hood" (1968) with Barrie Ingham and the drama "A Bridge Too Far" (1977) with Dirk Bogarde. He kept working in film throughout the seventies, starring in "The 39 Steps" (1978), the Burt Lancaster action film "Zulu Dawn" (1979) and the Richard Gere romance "Yanks" (1979). He also had a part in the TV miniseries "Scarlett" (1994-95). Most recently, Pickering appeared in "Victoria & Albert" (2001-02).
