Dorothy Kirsten was an actress who had a successful Hollywood career. Kirsten found her beginnings in film with roles in the Bing Crosby adaptation "Mr. Music" (1950) and the biopic "The Great Caruso" (1951) with Mario Lanza. She went on to act in "Mario Lanza: The American Caruso" (PBS, 1982-83) and "The Kennedy Center Honors: A Celebration of the Performing Arts" (CBS, 1988-89). Kirsten was most recently credited in "Great Moments in Opera" (PBS, 1996-97). Kirsten passed away in November 1992 at the age of 82.
