      Eddie Acuff was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Acuff's early acting career consisted of roles in various films, such as the Leslie Howard dramatic adaptation "The Petrified Forest" (1935), "Shipmates Forever" (1935) with Dick Powell and "I Found Stella Parish" (1935). He also appeared in "Jailbreak" (1936), the horror flick "The Walking Dead" (1936) with Boris Karloff and the Dick Foran western "Guns of the Pecos" (1936). His film career continued throughout the thirties in productions like "Four Daughters" (1938), "The Invisible Menace" (1938) and "Hollywood Hotel" (1938) with Dick Powell. He also appeared in "The Phantom Creeps" (1939). Film continued to be his passion as he played roles in "Daredevils of the West" (1943), the fantastical comedy "It Happened Tomorrow" (1944) with Dick Powell and "Carolina Blues" (1944). He also appeared in the Jeanne Crain romance "In the Meantime, Darling" (1944) and the Otto Kruger horror feature "Jungle Captive" (1945). Acuff more recently acted in the comedy "Blondie's Reward" (1949) with Penny Singleton. Acuff passed away in December 1956 at the age of 48.
