French actress Eva Mazauric has maintained a long and successful career playing supporting roles in film, television, and theater productions. She grew up in N"mes, where she caught the acting bug while participating in her high school drama club. At the age of 18, she left the provinces behind her when she won admission to the famous "Class Libre" (a tuition-free program) at the prestigious Cours Florent in Paris. There she studied acting under prominent actor/director Francis Huster, who has collaborated with such luminaries as Georges Franju, Jeanne Moreau, and Jacques Demy. In the 1990s, Mazauric began playing small roles in a diverse collection of films, including the crime flick "Massacres"(1991), the drama "Mina Tannenbaum" (1994) and Xavier Beauvois's Palme d'Or-nominated "Don't Forget You're Going to Die" (1995). In 2002, she secured a starring role in the made-for-TV comedy "Les filles du calendrier," which was very successful in France. She also appeared in the film's 2004 sequel. In 2009, Mazauric played a manic-depressive alcoholic in Philippe Godeau's wrenching ensemble drama "One for the Road," which also starred François Cluzet and Hervé Chabalier. In interviews, the actress has cited the films of John Cassavetes and Woody Allen as among her favorites.
