He shares the room with Pierre (Michel Vuillermoz) and befriends also the other patients, mainly the twenty-three-year-old Magali (Mélanie Thierry). Along the period of treatment, patients have recurrence, leave the clinic and even die. "Le dernier pour la route", a.k.a. "One for the Road" (2009), is a French drama film that shows the life in a private rehabilitation clinic. The plot follows the protagonist Hervé and in flashback the viewer sees some of his episodes when drunk. The story is never corny and gives a good message in the end. My vote is seven. Great cast, really nicely shot & quite straight to the point, this film isn't for romantics! It deals with some pretty heavy issues & gives you a fair view of what it is when you struggle big time with alcohol! See more 12/28/2010 It's a 'good' movie, but it's not possible to create a connection if you're not an alcoholic or don't know anyone who is. Hervé's wife's visit is probably the most powerful scene. Pas le genre de film que l'on va voir et revoir, ni un film culte et encore moins un grand film, mais surement a voir une fois.
