Frank Conroy
Frank Conroy was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Conroy's earliest roles were in film, including the dramatic adaptation "The Royal Family of Broadway" (1930) with Ina Claire, "Bad Company" (1931) and "The Possessed" (1931). He also appeared in "Grand Hotel" (1932), the Fay Wray drama "Ann Carver's Profession" (1933) and the Loretta Young crime feature "Midnight Mary" (1933). He kept working in film throughout the thirties, starring in the Preston Foster action film "The Last Days of Pompeii" (1935), the adventure "The Call of the Wild" (1935) with Clark Gable and the mystery "Charlie Chan in Egypt" (1935) with Warner Oland. He also appeared in the adventure "West Point of the Air" (1935) with Wallace Berry. Film continued to be his passion as he played roles in the Barbara Stanwyck crime flick "Lady of Burlesque" (1943), the drama "The Ox-Bow Incident" (1943) with Henry Fonda and "Crash Dive" (1943). He also appeared in "All My Sons" (1948) and "The Naked City" (1948) with Barry Fitzgerald. Conroy was most recently credited in "Stone Reader" (2003). Conroy passed away in February 1964 at the age of 74.
