Frankie Howerd
Howerd began his career in radio on a show called "Variety Band Box" and his films always remained secondary to his variety performances. His feature credits include "The Ladykillers" (1955), as a barrow-boy put upon by an old lady; "The Great St. Trinian's Train Robbery" (1966); "Carry On Doctor" (1967); "Up Pompeii" (1971), a movie version of his TV show; and "Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" (1978).
