Gene Austin

Gene Austin produced music for multiple Hollywood productions during the course of his Hollywood career. Austin kickstarted his acting career in various films such as "Songs and Saddles" (1938), "My Little Chickadee" (1940) and "Moon Over Las Vegas" (1944). Austin also contributed music to "Klondike Annie" (1936). In the fifties and the nineties, Austin's music continued to appear on the silver screen, including in films like the Betty Grable comedy adaptation "Three For the Show" (1955), the Richard Gere crime picture "The Cotton Club" (1984) and the Rebecca Jenkins dramatic biopic "Bye Bye Blues" (1990). Austin's music was most recently used in the biopic drama "J. Edgar" (2011) with Leonardo DiCaprio. Austin passed away in January 1972 at the age of 72.
