Gerardo Mejía
Gerardo Mejia was a big screen film actor known for powerful performances. Mejia began his acting career appearing mainly in films, such as the Patrick Dempsey comedy "Can't Buy Me Love" (1987), the Don Michael Paul sports "Winners Take All" (1987) and the Sean Penn action film "Colors" (1988). He also appeared in the TV movie "For the Very First Time" (NBC, 1990-91). He worked in television in his early acting career as well, including parts on "Santa Barbara" (NBC, 1983-1993) and "Supercarrier" (ABC, 1987-88). He also contributed to a variety of television specials, including "Victory & Valor: A Special Olympics All-Star Celebration" (1990-91), "Hats Off to America" (1991-92) and "In a New Light" (ABC, 1991-92). He also appeared in "For Our Children: The Concert" (Disney, 1992-93). Mejia also created music for the Cuba Gooding Jr. action flick "Gladiator" (1992). In more recent years, Mejia had roles in the comedy "A Million to Juan" (1994) with Paul Rodriguez, the documentary "Frosh: Nine Months in a Freshman Dorm" (1994) with Monique and the drama "Somebody to Love" (1996) with Rosie Perez. He also appeared in the documentary "Now & Then: From Frosh to Seniors" (1999) with Monique and the comedy "Loco Love" (2003) with Laura Elena Harring. Most recently, Mejia appeared in "Suave Says" (VH1, 2014-15).
