Gilbert Emery
Gilbert Emery was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Emery kickstarted his acting career in various films such as the drama "The Sentimental Bloke" (1918) with Arthur Tauchert, "Any Wife" (1922) and the Norma Shearer romance "Let Us Be Gay" (1930). He also appeared in the Grace Moore musical "A Lady's Morals" (1930), "Sarah and Son" (1930) and the William Powell drama "Ladies' Man" (1931). He kept working in film throughout the thirties, starring in "Goin' to Town" (1935), "Harmony Lane" (1935) and "Cardinal Richelieu" (1935) with George Arliss. He also appeared in "Clive of India" (1935). Toward the end of his career, he continued to act in "The Buccaneer" (1938), "The House of Mystery" (1938) and "The Saint Strikes Back" (1939). He also appeared in the Anna Neagle drama "Nurse Edith Cavell" (1939) and the biographical drama "Juarez" (1939) with Paul Muni. Emery more recently acted in the crime feature "The Brighton Strangler" (1945) with John Loder. Emery passed away in October 1945 at the age of 70.
