Gwynyth Walsh

Gwynyth Walsh has been a regular face on television for over two decades, although it would be easy not to recognize her from her most famous role: the Klingon warrior woman B'Etor in "Star Trek: The Next Generation." Under significant make-up and prosthetics, she played the ruthless character whose familial ties made her a blood enemy of the show's Lieutenant Commander Worf, on multiple "Trek" shows during the early '90s as well as in the feature "Star Trek: Generations." Prior to that, the Canadian actress appeared as a guest star in various television series during the '80s, including science-fiction programs such as "War of the Worlds." However, during this time, she also had a recurring role as Melanie Hayes in the 1989 season of "L.A. Law," and proved her versatility in an '84 television adaptation of the musical "Iolanthe," based on the Gilbert and Sullivan opera. After gaining fame in some circles for her portrayal of B'Etor, she guest-starred in a 1997 episode of another "Trek" series, "Star Trek: Voyager," as a telepathic constable named Nimira, and began costarring in the crime drama "Da Vinci's Inquest" as chief pathologist Patricia Da Vinci. The 2000s brought more television work as well as an acclaimed performance in the 2004 short "Flush," in which she played a woman who teases her husband about his fear of public bathrooms, only to regret it later.
