Hampton Yount
Born in Virginia, Hampton Yount began writing comedy when he created a comic strip, "Rob & Elliot" with his brother, Clay, in 2004. Yount dropped out of college to pursue comedy after performing his third stand-up set in Blacksburg, and took the opportunity to move back home, closer to the more vibrant Washington, D.C. comedy scene. In 2012 he was named one of Esquire Magazine's Best New Comedians. The same year he appeared on Comedy Central's Comics to Watch at the New York Comedy Festival. Around this time, Yount was diagnosed with depression and began a process that would result in 120 pounds of weight loss. In 2013 he began contributing jokes to Rob Dyrdek's show "Ridiculousness" (MTV, 2011-). In 2014, Yount appeared on "Last Comic Standing" (NBC, 2003-2010, 2014-15) and fulfilled a lifelong dream when he performed a set on "Conan" (TBS, 2010-). The same night as his "Conan" set, Yount recorded a live stand up album; Bearable was released in 2014. In 2015, he had his first stand up special, with "Comedy Central Presents: The Half Hour" (Comedy Central, 2012-). It was announced in 2015, that Yount would provide the voice for the robot Crow in the crowdfunded reboot of "Mystery Science Theater 3000."
