American violinist Hilary Hahn was born in Lexington, Virginia, and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. Hahn began playing the violin at just three years old. She continued to study the instrument under many different classical musicians throughout her childhood and teenage years, and had her major orchestral debut at age 12. Hahn would go on to play with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic, and others. Her first television appearance would only come in 2000, though, for "Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood" (PBS, 1971-2001). A few years later, she would become the soloist for M. Night Shyamalan's "The Village" (2004), which received a nomination for Best Original Score at the Academy Awards. Hahn was also part of the score for the films "The Deep Blue Sea" (2011) and "The Sea" (2013). Her talent and dedication would eventually award her with three Grammy Award wins and five nominations.
