James Cada was a big screen film actor known for powerful performances. At the start of his acting career, Cada starred in dramas like "Wildrose" (1985) starring Lisa Eichhorn, the Jose Ferrer film "Old Explorers" (1990) and the Josh Charles film "Crossing the Bridge" (1992). He also appeared in "Untamed Heart" (1993) starring Christian Slater. He also appeared in the TV movie "Lucky Day" (ABC, 1990-91). He kept working in film throughout the nineties, starring in the action film "Iron Will" (1994) with Mackenzie Astin, the Walter Matthau comedy sequel "Grumpier Old Men" (1995) and the Maria Calviat drama "Cafe Donna" (1996). His work around this time also included a part on the TV movie "A Chance of Snow" (Lifetime, 1998-99). He also worked in television during these years, including a part on "The Faculty" (ABC, 1995-96). In his more recent career, he continued to act in "Drop Dead Gorgeous" (1999) with Kirsten Dunst, "The Straight Story" (1999) with Sissy Spacek and "Joe Somebody" (2001). He also appeared in the dramatic adaptation "North Country" (2005) with Charlize Theron and "Sweet Land" (2006) with Alan Cumming. Cada most recently acted in the comedic drama "A Serious Man" (2009) with Michael Stuhlbarg.
